Spring Viewing Event of Paeonia Obovata

Paeonia obovata inhabits only in very limited mountain areas. 
Its fluffy red and white flowers bloom in May for very short time period. The life of each flower is only 3 to 4 days.  The number of paeonia obovata is decreasing and it is designated as the rare endangered creatures by Kyoto Prefecture.   The flowers will be on public for limited period in May every year.

You may also enjoy tempura of mountain vegetables, riceballs, local vegetables in food stalls by locals.  The area is 5 minutes from the Thatched Village.  

Dates: (TBD for 2019)  For your reference, it was 20th, 26th and 27th of May (from 10am to 3pm) in 2018 
Location:Uchikubo Community Center (Uchikubo, Miyama Town, Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture)  * It's located on the way to Thatched Village from Road Station Fureai Hiroba.
